I grew up in Washington Terrace, Utah and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1995. I served an LDS mission soon after in Portland, Oregon. I married my beautiful wife in 2002 and settled here in Clearfield and have since had five children, Max, Chloe, Gavin, Paisley, and Sadie. We enjoy living in Clearfield City and enjoy its many recreation programs and parks. We have built many friendships here and plan to build many more. While I have lived in Clearfield I have coached basketball, baseball, and soccer.
I have my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Marketing from the University of Phoenix and I currently work at Zions Bancorporation as a Business Analyst.
I have a strong interest in current events and love learning from the great leaders of the past, especially our founding fathers of this great nation. When I moved to Clearfield City I started to get involved and for the last four years have been serving on the Clearfield City Planning Commission. In 2016 I served as the Chair of the Planning Commission until I was appointed to fill the vacancy on the Clearfield City Council in December of 2016. I have gained experience in land use and zoning policy over the last four years which has prepared me for my time on the City Council.
While I was growing up I watched my grandfather serve on the City Council of Washington Terrace City. I learned from his example on how to take time to listen to residents and to study the issues and be educated to make the right decision. Another great example to me was my fourth grade teacher who held a class council that taught us how city government works. It was these examples and many others that created my desire to serve.
When I chose to put my name on the list of possible candidates to be appointed to the City Council, I decided that if I was chosen I would do the best I could to serve the residents of Clearfield City. In making this decision I have decided that I will commit myself to a full term serving our great city. Clearfield City has a lot to offer not only in Davis County and the state of Utah, but the United States of America and the world. Positive changes are being made all over our nation and these changes are starting with local government. I want to be part of that positive change right here in Clearfield City. We have a strong community with a diverse population and many unique stories that join us together to help Clearfield City be a leader of positive influence. I want to serve on the City Council to continue to tell the stories of Clearfield City and make a positive impact.
