Meet Tim Roper
I grew up in Washington Terrace, Utah, and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1995. I served an LDS mission soon after in Portland, Oregon. I married my wife, Marie, in 2002 and settled here in Clearfield and have been here ever since. Marie and I have six children, Max, Chloe, Gavin, Paisley, Sadie, and Dawson. We have enjoyed living in Clearfield City and enjoy the quality of life it offers us. We enjoy spending time in our many parks and have built many friendships here and plan to build many more. While I have lived in Clearfield I have coached basketball, baseball, and soccer, and participated in our city events.
I have my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Marketing from the University of Phoenix. I recently started working for the Davis Chamber of Commerce as the Director of Member Development. I was taught at a young age you can accomplish a lot more as a team, so I have always strived to build teams the best I can. I am grateful I get to work with my colleagues on the city council who feel the same way. Over my time on the council, we have strived to work together to find solutions to issues that build Clearfield City to be sustainable and be a great place to live.
This last year we have faced unforeseen issues but because we were prepared as a council and built a team we took these issues head-on. During the pandemic, we took precautions and financial measures that allowed the city to continue to operate and provided necessary services to our residents. As we begin this year to continue climbing out of this I am optimistic for continued economic development and fiscal sustainability. Clearfield has unique issues that will continue to be addressed but they can only be solved through teamwork.
As I look at what has been accomplished over my first term and try to select ways I impacted the city, I only think of policy and procedures that only would have happened with the council as a whole. As we press forward we need to focus more on community and how we work together to ensure that Clearfield is a place that allows you, the resident, to live in a way that best meets your needs and allows all of us to feel that we belong. I am supportive of looking at better ways to continue to allow the city to function better. I would like to see us in the coming years find better ways to improve every aspect of our city so it continues to serve the residents. One of these areas is improving the ordinances of our city both from an enforcement angle as well as how they impact your daily life.
I want to continue to represent Clearfield City and keep you informed of what is going on. I encourage all to get involved and be a part of the decision-making process. Please reach out to me any time.
